When I was seven years old, my aunt who worked for IBM, brought my family a computer. This is the moment when technology became my passion. I began learning to use the computer by playing DOS games on 5 1/4″ floppy disks. I was hooked. My older brother, Chris was a huge influence on my love for technology and computers. He is three years older than I am; I would always try to outdo him. I would push myself to be better than him. I was not a good loser at the time (still not!), although it usually takes failure to succeed. I was just a child and I didn’t know this at the time. Quickly, competition became another passion of mine.
I graduated from Central Regional High School in Bayville, NJ in June, 2003. I began attending Ocean County College as a high school junior – I would attend high school for the first half of the day and then head to college for class afterwards. Upon graduation from high school, I enrolled full-time at Ocean County College. I turned down the opportunity to attend the University of Miami because I wanted to stay in my comfort zone; living at home and hanging out with the same friends. Lesson learned. I was a shy, young man fascinated with technology.
I attended Ocean County College until 2005 when I took a job working for IVNET. I started out as the assistant to the founder of the company running errands and handling small tasks. I quickly learned about Internet broadcasting and web design. I made a place for myself within the small company. I was made CTO a few months before the company went public in late 2008. IVNET was an Internet marketing business providing live streaming and other web services. Some of the projects I worked on were Ed Lover TV, iStream set-top box, Ice mobile and DJ Clue TV which included the Who’s The DJ? reality show. Even though the company went out of business in late 2010, my experience, knowledge and passion of technology grew immensely from the failure of IVNET.
In the winter of 2010, I took a position on the IT help desk team for the luxury brand, Hermes of Paris in their New York City office. I stayed there for about a month before I left the position. I realized that I was an entrepreneur at heart and I was going to follow my dreams.
My life is one of a kind. I have been through a lot of ups and downs in business and my personal life over this time period. I created this blog with the intent of sharing various events that occurred in my life - knowing that someone will benefit from my experiences.
