Free Advertising?!?

In the parking lot outside my apartment I see a new Range Rover, a new BMW 330CI and many other cars with the dealer’s license plate frame on it. Some of these vehicles even have a sticker from the dealer on the rear. These cars all cost over $30k – some are closer to $100k. How are so many car dealerships getting this free advertising? When you buy/lease a car from a dealer, you are given temporary registration that is often a piece of paper stuck to your rear windshield. A few weeks later your registration and license plates are delivered to the dealership where you purchased your vehicle. They call to tell you that your registration and license plates have come in. So you drive down to the dealership and they offer to install your new license plates for you. Here is where they get you…

Don't let this happen to you!

If you agree to let the dealership put your license plates on - they will 99.9% of the time put their license plate frames on as well. FREE ADVERTISNG! Don’t fall for this. I always put my own license plates on for this reason. It is only 8 screws! If a vehicle you are interested in has a dealership sticker on the rear, I would demand the sticker be removed as a stipulation of the sale. Personally, I would not purchase a car if it had any sticker(s) on it at all. Just not my thing.
